Being in a wheelchair makes traveling very anxious ridden for me but this trip to Mexico has been really good so far. Because I can walk aided over very short distances we chose and a swim up room that isn’t disabled friendly but I knew beforehand it may be more difficult. Having a semi private pool off the balcony and the ocean view make up for it.   If the resort made the gym accessible, had a few shower stools for the non disabled rooms and a beach wheelchair it’d be perfect!!! we just got official word from the spa in the u.k and they’re doubling down on the unwritten policy and directed any further communication to their lawyers. Disappointing but not unexpected.

The Journey Begins

Hi, my name is Amanda and I have Paraneoplastic Cerebellar Degeneration. It’s a type of Paraneoplastic Syndrome. I live with my husband Adam, two Romanian rescue dogs Harry and Angie. I’ve spent the last two years being house/ bed bound but thanks to rehabilitation I am now trying to make up for lost time. I can’t work so I am trying to bring awareness to PNS, cancer and disability equality. In my way.
